We will strive to provide opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities, autism and other associated complex needs to encourage community involvement and enjoy new experiences, whilst learning new skills. We will support activities and lifestyle opportunities for individuals who have expressed aspirations, choice and goals as identified in their individual person centred care plan, considering personal safety, and the completion of risk assessments and behavioural management plans where necessary.

Our aim is to deliver and support activities in the community, in a variety of settings to achieve inclusion, stimulation, progression and participation in a wide range of activities.

Music, Art and Crafts

The team encourage freedom of expression, creativity and individuality through creative therapies such as music, arts and crafts.

Local craftspeople from the community make regular visits to teach pottery and other crafts.

IT Learning

Technology

Special IT programs – such as Widget. Music development, cinematography and photography.

All of the above aid communication, increase confidence, self esteem, self worth and personal progression.

Sensory Learning

Sensory Stimulation &
Complementary Therapies

Therapies include aromatherapy, massage, reiki, sensory, hydrotherapy, spatial awareness, body awareness, personal orientation and environmental orientation.

All of the sessions are facilitated by experienced and qualified staff.

Support Services

The Old Rectory aims to promote inclusion, human and civil rights and equality in it’s work. We offer services to people sensitive to their disability, curial, religious, racial and sexual orientation.

The building comprises of three four bedroom apartments and one three bedroom apartment. All bedrooms are of a generous size and have en-suite facilities, some with showers, some with a bath. We also offer specially adapted shower/bath facilities. Rooms are decorated to the individuals taste and style. In addition each apartment has a spacious lounge, kitchen/diner or dining room and safe outside garden area.

Our specialist service is provided by a highly trained and dedicated team. Their professional expertise in autism, learning disabilities and other associated complex needs, is drawn from varied backgrounds, hence creating a team with a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience in supporting those who have disabilities.
